Insurance Coverage

Insurance is a popular topic that comes up frequently, and rightfully so, as the BioMat® is an FDA 510K Class II Medical Device.

The most successful coverage is found with PIP (Personal Insurance Protection), Workers Comp, Personal Injury, and Flex Spending or Health Savings Accounts.

To use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA) funds to purchase a BioMat® we recommend:

  1. If you have an HSA / FSA debit card, place your order on our website here
  2. If the order does not go through on the first attempt, give us a call
  3. If you do not have an HSA / FSA debit card, and are using your own personal banking information, and then seeking reimbursement, give us a call

WHAT TO DO TO SEEK INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR YOUR BIOMAT

Here is what you need to know so you can navigate the world of insurance in the least amount of time, with the least amount of stress.

First of all….

To pursue Insurance Coverage with your insurance company (not FSA or HSA coverage), we suggest the following steps:

1. Discuss the Biomat® with your physician, and see if they are willing to write a prescription. If your physician is unfamiliar with the BioMat®, you may provide them the downloadable flyer here, and ask them if they feel “Infrared heat therapy” would be helpful. If so, ask your physician for the following:

A prescription with the following specifications:

  • The size BioMat® being prescribed (Professional, Mini, Pillow, etc)
  • Specify the intended purpose (pain relief, stress management, insomnia relief)
  • Specify the instructions for use (heat setting and duration)
  • A letter requesting Insurance Coverage (click here to download a sample)
  • A Consultation Letter – (click here to download a sample)

2. Once you decide to pursue Insurance coverage, you will need to determine:

  • If you wish to purchase a BioMat® immediately knowing that reimbursement from your insurance may, may not, or may be partially covered by your insurance provider.
  • Postpone your purchase until your Insurance company has provided you with answers.

3. Contact BioMat.com for a Medical Receipt at https://AROMAGEE.biomat.com/contact-us/ We will need the following information:

  • The full name of the insured person on the insurance policy
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • BioMat® items to be included on the Medical Receipt

4. Once you have the Medical Receipt and the items from your physician, you can submit them to your insurance.

  • A prescription
  • A letter requesting Insurance Coverage
  • A Consultation Letter
